ServiceNow offers 2 major releases every year. In order to make the upgrade from one release to another easier, ServiceNow provides the "Now Support Upgrade Assist" to selected customers.
"Now Support Upgrade Assist” is a program for selected customers where ServiceNow will automatically schedule the instances of your choice to be upgraded to the latest family after it is released. With this program, your instances get the latest features, security, performance, and functional improvements automatically, as they become available.
Who are the selected customers? Customers on their latest upgrade terms are eligible for Now Support Upgrade Assist.
Should I have it enabled on my Instances? Definitely yes! ServiceNow will automatically schedule the instances you select to upgrade to the newest family shortly after it releases twice per year. You will be among the first to take advantage of the latest features, as well as performance and security improvements.
What If I choose to upgrade once per year? It is possible with Upgrade Assist! CHGs created by the Now Support Upgrade Assist program can be cancelled in the Now Support portal at any time up until the CHG is scheduled to execute. It also has the flexibility to change the target version to any available version and reschedule the upgrade CHGs to your convenient date and time.
Are there any limitations? Now Support Upgrade Assist program will not schedule End of Life instances for upgrades. This program will not automatically schedule the patch upgrades.
